[edit] What is Narfell?
Narfell is Roleplay (RP) focused Persistent World (PW) for Neverwinter Nights. It is an active world with a sizable player base and a dedicated staff of DM’s which, together, help to create a living and unique roleplaying experience. We strive to provide a RP experience that feels akin to a normal table top environment of D&D, while at the same time utilizing and embracing the unique nature that an online PW provides. Nafell is one of the oldest PW’s created for NWN and strives to remain .hak and password free. This means that anyone can jump in, make a character, and come experience the enjoyment of Narfell.
The server is balanced to be a medium magic/power world. This means that very powerful magic items are very rare and any magical items are valuable things. Levels generally range from 1 to 15, with characters in the range of 7-9 being quite strong within the scope of the world. A rugged and harsh world, the server is focused towards party play above solo and encourages players to join together for adventures.
[edit] What’s the purpose of this Handbook?
This handbook is a guide: it is meant to help players adapt to the server whether they are new to RP in general, online D&D, or simply the world of Narfell. The first section of the handbook is "Character Creation", this portion will aid in the process of character concept and build, giving both general and Narfell specific information. The second section is "Server Overview" which contains a number of useful sections that give the player In Character (IC) and Out of Character (OOC) tips, these tips help the player to make the most out of his or her time in Narfell.
One of two routes is recommended for initially creating a character: Character Concept or Character Build. "Character Concept" first addresses the backgrounds and traits of the character. Creating a background can help the player to generate ideas on what kind of build his or her character should posess. "Character Build" first creates the statistics of the character, thus helping the player to generate ideas on background and traits that might fit the character.
